Small
& Intimate Stillwaters
Great flyfishing is not limited to only the large
lake and its feeder creeks. In fact, small stillwaters
abound in this Cariboo region, offering yet another
angling experience.
These
intimate stillwaters boast large numbers of trout,
which feed confidently on scuds, leeches, chironomids,
caddis flies, mayflies, damselflies, dragonflies and
corixa.
These
complex aquatic hatches can lead to unmatched action
both on the surface with a dry fly and below with
nymphs.
This
is really an intimate experience where you will feel
at harmony with the wilderness around you. Your soul
will be recharged listening to the call of the loons
and contemplating the gentler aspects of life. It
is also not uncommon to see a moose swim by or watch
a loon dive after your fish. More often than not,
you will be the only person on the lake.
And,
the good news is that these small and intimate stillwaters,
some trophy lakes, of which there are several, are
less than a half hour from Elysia Resort.
Some
of the lakes within an easy half hour drive of Elysia
Resort are Keno, Klinne, Hen Ingram, Osley, Melissa,
and more. All offer rewarding angling experiences.
