FISHING ADVICE
Our Guide in Residence, Quille Farnham, is probably
the most experienced guide on Quesnel Lake. Her first
hand experience on Quesnel Lake, as well as the nearby
stillwaters, streams and rivers, helps reveal to guests
a blue-ribbon fishery, which rivals any of the hallowed
waters in North America. In addition to guiding guests
on the water, Quille also maintains hours in the lodge
where she offers several things: (a) Comprehensive
fishing orientations to new guests, (b)Two-on-one
fishing direction and guidance, (c) Assistance in
basic gear set up, and (d) Fly tying demonstrations
As
a unique offering, offered only at Elysia Resort,
Quille is available at the lodge and is there just
for you. There is no charge for this service. As our
Resident Guide and Fishing Expert, Quille is readily
available at the lodge to enhance your fishing experience,
to make sure you are catching fish. To help make this
the best fishing trip youve ever had.
GUIDED
DAY TRIPS
Full guided day trips can be arranged, ranging between
$450 and $500/day for 2 people. Price includes guide,
boat & gas, flies, professional fly-fishing and casting
instruction and a hearty packed lunch. There are many
guided destinations to choose from – Quesnel Lake,
Rivers (Horsefly, Mitchell, Cariboo, Quesnel), and
nearby small trophy lakes (Oslie, Hen Ingram, Klinne,
Keno, and Melissa). If you are new to our fishing
area, and it is within your budget, we highly recommend
that you hire a guide for at least your first day
of fishing. Quesnel Lake especially is a huge water
to fish and you will have far better and faster results
if you seek the wisdom of a guide.
Note:
Our river guides do not live on site and require
a 2-day minimum booking when guiding on rivers from
June through August. One day of river guiding may
be possible if someone else has booked within the
dates you are enquiring.

Itinerary:
Day
1. Begin your journey at the Williams Lake Airport
or Train Station. Take an easy 1 ½ hour shuttle east
to Quesnel Lake via the town of Horsefly. Arrive in
time to relax in the hot tub before enjoying a gourmet
dinner in our panoramic dining room. Fall asleep to
the hauntingly, restful sound of the loons.
Day
2. After beginning your day with a scrumptious breakfast,
enjoy a 2 hour back-road journey along the Horsefly
River and West Arm of Quesnel Lake to our jet boat
location at historic Quesnel Forks. Here you can relive
the gold rush of the largest town north of San Francisco
in the mid 1800’s. Experience the excitement of a
jet boat trip down the white waters of Quesnel River
to Quesnel River Lodge, the homestead of Quesnel Hydraulic
Gold Mine and Town site. You can also be assured of
a fun and exciting ride to the hot fishing spots.
Sit by the 24 foot tall river-rock fireplace and eat
a hearty home cooked lunch. Learn about the history
of this historic town site developed in the early
1900’s.
After
returning to the resort, enjoy a soak in the tub or
canoe ride before having dinner and a cocktail on
the patio.
Day
3. Start your morning with a hearty breakfast, before
trekking up to the playground area for one hour of
optional instruction with your guide on the art of
fly casting. Then, by boat, you will follow beautiful
sandy beaches of the North Arm while bucktailing and
casting for wild rainbow trout. If it is big rainbows
or big Bull Trout you hunger for, we should be your
destination. You will also find ample opportunity
to observe Giant Ancient Cedar Rain Forests and long
sandy beaches while keeping your eyes open for wildlife.
Time will be provided for you to have a tasty picnic
lunch on the shore.
Once
back at the resort, relax and unwind, or enjoy a short
canoe ride before heading to the lodge for dinner
and a sunset.
Day
4. Wake up to a wholesome breakfast and grab your
camera for this spectacular boat ride and fishing
adventure up the rocky shores of the East Arm. Search
for mountain goats along the rocky cliffs and see
natural wonders such as our very own 200 foot Niagara
Falls. Here at the falls you will enjoy a delicious
shore lunch.
Back
at the resort, enjoy a game of horse shoes or badminton,
or simply relax in one of the outdoor hammocks. Mosey
over to the lodge to enjoy one of the chef’s daily
features and a bottle of wine.
Day
5. Have a final Elysia Resort breakfast, say so
long to new friends, and then be taken to the
Airport or Train Station for your trip home.
